The Shim-pack MAYI column is used for 2D online sample pretreatment. The column consists of a 50µm pore size particle with an outer coating of methylcellulose and various functional groups inside the pores. The hydrophilic polymer coating is effective for protein removal and concentration of analytes (typically drugs) from biological samples. After protein elution, the MAYI column is put inline with the analytical column and trapped sample is eluted for LCMS analysis.
